470 (Falkirk) Squadron was honoured to host the Commandant of the Air Cadets, Air Commodore Al Lewis on Friday evening as part of his first official visit to Central Scotland!
We were joined by Cadets and CFAV’s from across West, Central and South East Scotland Wing’s and Regional staff for a Q&A session diving into the burning topics that really matter to cadets and our volunteers. This provided a fascinating insight into how the Corps will evolve in the next 18 months. A visit like this also presented a rare opportunity to have the Commandant present cadet promotions, awards and staff medals within the region. A memorable occasion for all involved and congratulations to the recipients!
The team at 470 pulled out all the stops to ensure he received a taste of Scottish hospitality including pipes and drums on arrival and a special presentation of Falkirk Wheel and Kelpie whisky glasses as a memento of his visit to our town.
“Haste ye back” Sir!
