The RAF Air Cadets offer young people exciting opportunities for personal and professional development. We’re an inclusive organisation that cares about helping young people reach their potential. Every year nearly 43,000 air cadets and 10,000 volunteer staff take part in exciting events at over 1,000 squadrons across the UK.
Life as an Air Cadet at 470 (Falkirk) Squadron is full of adventure and life enhancing experiences!
When you join the RAF Air Cadets you will have the opportunity to try a range of wide range of exciting activities and challenges, make new friends and build skills and confidence.
Every unit has to make their accommodation work for them. Our current joint cadet centre may not be the largest facility available to the Corps but we have invested heavily over the last 10 years to make it our unique home.
We have a long connection with the town centre since our formation in February 1941 and we are proud to continue to serve the town multiple generations later.
Just like our parent service we are encouraging young people to study STEM subjects to help them realise their full potential in whatever career they choose – Civilian or Armed Forces.
470 has been at the forefront of this revolution and with our dedicated staff of volunteers drawn from many technical and engineering disciplines we continue to live up to our motto of “Engineered to Succeed”.
470 is in the very fortunate position that our Civilian Commitee maintains a dedicated minibus for the use of the Squadron – one of only a couple of Squadrons who have this capability in Scotland.
We try to provide a level playing field for our cadets so that regardless of your socio-economic status we provide accessible transport to Squadron events. This really helps parents and guardians who would normally need to car share to allow their cadets to attend events if there is no centralised Corps transport.
